Six Guns Post-Show Press Conference

Six Guns Post-Show Press Conference

The Comal County Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall still hums with life.

Most of the fans have already filtered out into the warm New Braunfels night, but just beyond the arena floor, another crowd has gathered.

Reporters.

Photographers.

Independent wrestling journalists.

Content creators.

Television crews.

Rows of folding chairs face a raised platform draped in black, an enormous Heroes & Villains Wrestling banner hanging behind it. The red and blue HVW logo sits in the center, flanked by weathered steel trusses on one side and glowing LED light columns on the other.

It is an odd combination.

Rust.

Chrome.

Dust.

Neon.

Exactly what Heroes & Villains Wrestling has become.

At center stage sit two podiums.

The one on the left is built from reclaimed wood reinforced with steel plates, the grain still visible beneath the finish.

The one on the right is sleek black acrylic with animated blue circuitry slowly flowing beneath its transparent surface.

The Sheriff's podium.

The Hacker's podium.

Camera flashes begin popping as the two men emerge through opposite curtains.

The Sheriff tips his hat toward the crowd, drawing a loud ovation from the Texas faithful.

The Hacker receives a more mixed response, offering nothing more than a slight tilt of his head as digital blue lights pulse beneath his podium.

The Sheriff waits for the room to settle.

Sheriff: "Well now..."

He looks out over the packed press room before adjusting his hat.

Sheriff: "I reckon if y'all are still here after everything we just watched tonight, either you love this business... or you ain't got nothin' better to do."

Laughter ripples through the room.

Even the Hacker smirks.

Sheriff: "Either way, we're glad you're here."

He gestures toward the crowd.

Sheriff: "Six Guns & Sinners was exactly what we hoped it'd be."

He nods proudly.

Sheriff: "Championships crowned."

He raises another finger.

Sheriff: "Rivalries got even uglier."

Another.

Sheriff: "New stars stepped up."

Then one more.

Sheriff: "And I don't think anybody in this room can honestly say they know exactly what's gonna happen next."

The room murmurs in agreement.

The Hacker finally leans toward his microphone.

Hacker: "Unpredictability."

A pause.

Hacker: "The greatest indicator of healthy evolution."

His glowing podium emits another faint pulse.

Hacker: "Systems stagnate when outcomes become expected."

He glances toward the Sheriff.

Hacker: "Tonight..."

Another pause.

Hacker: "...the system refused to stagnate."

The Sheriff chuckles.

Sheriff: "He always finds a fancy way of sayin' things turned out pretty damn good."

More laughter.

A reporter immediately rises.

Reporter: "Sheriff, you've only been in business for about two months now. Looking back at everything from the first Saturday Night until tonight... are you where you expected to be?"

The Sheriff folds his hands over the podium.

Sheriff: "Truthfully?"

He shakes his head.

Sheriff: "No."

The room quiets.

Sheriff: "We're ahead."

More cameras click.

Sheriff: "I figured it'd take us six months before folks really started believin' in what we were buildin'."

He gestures toward the packed room.

Sheriff: "Instead, every week we've had more people show up."

He points toward the arena.

Sheriff: "Tonight was our biggest crowd yet."

Cheers break out from several fans still in attendance.

Sheriff: "Folks are investin' in these wrestlers."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "That's all I ever wanted."

Another reporter stands.

Reporter: "Hacker, Evolution has developed a very different identity from Saturday Night. Do you think tonight proved one brand is superior?"

The Hacker doesn't answer immediately.

Instead, he slowly folds his hands together.

Hacker: "No."

A surprised murmur fills the room.

Hacker: "Competition creates improvement."

He looks toward the Sheriff.

Hacker: "Saturday Night forces Evolution to become stronger."

Then toward the reporters.

Hacker: "Evolution forces Saturday Night to adapt."

His expression remains unreadable.

Hacker: "Neither survives without the other."

The Sheriff looks over.

Sheriff: "Now don't go printin' that we're startin' to like each other."

The room laughs again.

Sheriff: "We still argue every week."

Hacker: "Frequently."

Sheriff: "Usually because he's wrong."

Hacker: "Statistically inaccurate."

Sheriff: "That's your opinion."

Hacker: "No."

A beat.

Hacker: "It is data."

The reporters erupt with laughter.

The Sheriff simply shakes his head.

Sheriff: "See what I gotta deal with?"

Another hand shoots into the air.

Reporter: "There were several impressive debuts tonight. Deacon St. John and Stevie Warwick opened the pay-per-view with a tremendous match. Thoughts?"

The Sheriff nods immediately.

Sheriff: "That match set the tone."

He looks around the room.

Sheriff: "Stevie Warwick walked into Heroes & Villains Wrestling tonight and proved she belongs here."

He pauses.

Sheriff: "Didn't get the win..."

He nods respectfully.

Sheriff: "...but she earned everybody's respect."

The Hacker speaks next.

Hacker: "Deacon St. John displayed exactly what opportunity should produce."

His fingers rest lightly against the podium.

Hacker: "Efficiency."

A pause.

Hacker: "Calculated aggression."

Another.

Hacker: "And victory."

Sheriff: "He's one to keep your eye on."

Another reporter stands.

Reporter: "Briar Bryne defeated Lucas Greene tonight in what many are calling HOSTILITY's first real setback against the Regulators. Was that an important victory?"

The Sheriff smiles.

Sheriff: "I'd say so."

The Hacker actually answers first.

Hacker: "Momentum."

He lets the word linger.

Hacker: "One victory becomes confidence."

Another pause.

Hacker: "Confidence becomes expectation."

He looks toward the reporters.

Hacker: "Expectation becomes dangerous."

Sheriff: "Well..."

He grins.

Sheriff: "Speakin' of dangerous..."

The room immediately perks up.

Sheriff: "I don't reckon we oughta spend all night talkin' about folks when we can bring 'em out here ourselves."

Cheers begin building.

The Sheriff steps away from the podium.

Sheriff: "Ladies and gentlemen..."

A grin spreads across his face.

Sheriff: "Please welcome..."

He gestures toward the entrance.

Sheriff: "The Regulators."

The crowd erupts.

"God's Gonna Cut You Down" thunders through the speakers as Lex Collins steps through the curtain first, still sporting tape across his ribs from the night's battle.

Close behind him is Adam Hansen, his shirt still showing the wear and tear from the lumberjack war.

Finally comes Briar Bryne, a confident smile on her face after scoring the biggest singles victory of her young HVW career.

The Texas crowd gives the hometown-style babyface faction a tremendous ovation.

The three competitors walk onto the stage together before standing shoulder to shoulder between the Sheriff's and Hacker's podiums.

The Sheriff extends a hand toward them.

Sheriff: "Congratulations."

Lex nods.

Lex Collins: "Appreciate it."

Briar smiles brightly.

Briar Bryne: "Feels pretty good."

Adam simply nods once.

Adam Hansen: "Long night."

Laughter spreads through the room.

A reporter immediately speaks.

Reporter: "Briar... first singles match in Heroes & Villains Wrestling, and you beat Lucas Greene from HOSTILITY. How important was tonight for you personally?"

Briar takes a breath before answering.

Briar Bryne: "Huge."

She smiles.

Briar Bryne: "Everybody talks about Lex."

She glances toward him.

Briar Bryne: "Everybody talks about Adam."

Then back to the reporters.

Briar Bryne: "Tonight was my chance to remind everybody that I'm not just standing beside two great wrestlers."

A confident nod.

Briar Bryne: "I'm one too."

The crowd applauds.

Reporter: "Lex, HOSTILITY has made your lives miserable for weeks now. Does tonight finally feel like turning the tide?"

Lex folds his arms.

Lex Collins: "No."

The room quiets.

Lex Collins: "Turning the tide would've been ending it."

A pause.

Lex Collins: "Tonight wasn't the end."

He glances toward his teammates.

Lex Collins: "Tonight was proof we can beat them."

Another pause.

Lex Collins: "Now we've gotta keep doing it."

Several reporters nod while writing.

Another voice comes from the back.

Reporter: "Lex, next Saturday you challenge Dan 'The Hammer' Highlander for the HVW World Championship at UPRISING's Solstice IV. You've fought beside him before. What's your mindset heading into that match?"

The room becomes noticeably quieter.

Lex smiles faintly.

Lex Collins: "Dan's earned every bit of that championship."

He nods.

Lex Collins: "Nobody backs into a record like his."

Another nod.

Lex Collins: "Nobody survives the people he's survived by accident."

He looks directly into one of the cameras.

Lex Collins: "I respect him."

A beat.

Lex Collins: "A whole lot."

He smiles again.

Lex Collins: "But respect doesn't win championships."

The applause begins to build.

Lex Collins: "I've spent my entire career chasing moments exactly like this."

He points toward himself.

Lex Collins: "So when we walk into Solstice..."

A pause.

Lex Collins: "I'm not showing up hoping to compete."

Another pause.

Lex Collins: "I'm showing up to become the HVW World Champion."

A loud ovation follows.

The Sheriff nods approvingly.

Sheriff: "That's exactly the answer I'd expect."

Before another question can be asked—

"HOSTILE" blasts through the speakers.

The cheers instantly turn to deafening boos.

Christopher $aint James strides through the curtain first, dressed in an immaculate suit despite the bruises visible across his face.

Behind him walks Xander Daniels, jaw clenched.

Finally...

Reaper.

Silent.

Towering.

Expressionless.

The Regulators immediately step forward.

Security stationed along the walls reacts instantly, moving between the two groups before either side can make contact.

Christopher $aint James slowly picks up one of the spare microphones lying on the press table.

He smirks.

Christopher $aint James: "Touching."

The boos intensify.

Christopher $aint James: "Really."

He looks Lex up and down.

Christopher $aint James: "One decent night..."

He gestures dismissively.

Christopher $aint James: "...and suddenly everyone thinks the Regulators have solved HOSTILITY."

He laughs.

Christopher $aint James: "Gentlemen."

He glances toward Briar.

Christopher $aint James: "And lady."

His smile disappears.

Christopher $aint James: "This..."

He motions between the groups.

Christopher $aint James: "...is far from over."

Reaper never takes his eyes off Adam Hansen.

Xander Daniels stares daggers through Lex Collins.

Christopher $aint James continues.

Christopher $aint James: "Celebrate while you can."

He points toward the stage backdrop displaying the newly crowned Alliance Champions.

Christopher $aint James: "Because that Alliance Championship tournament starts very soon."

He smirks.

Christopher $aint James: "And whether you like it or not..."

A pause.

Christopher $aint James: "...HOSTILITY will be there."

He taps the microphone against his palm.

Christopher $aint James: "Matter of fact..."

His grin widens.

Christopher $aint James: "If I were a betting man..."

He points at himself.

Christopher $aint James: "I'd put every dollar I've got on us winning the whole damn thing."

The crowd boos relentlessly.

Lex steps toward the security line, microphone still in hand.

Lex Collins: "Then you'd better start saving."

The building erupts.

Christopher laughs.

Christopher $aint James: "We'll see."

For a tense few seconds, neither side moves.

The only sounds are camera shutters...

The restless murmur of the crowd...

And security preparing for the worst.

Finally, the Sheriff steps between both factions, microphone in hand.

Sheriff: "That's enough."

His voice carries authority.

Sheriff: "Y'all already tore up enough of my building tonight."

A small laugh breaks the tension.

Sheriff: "Save the rest for the ring."

HOSTILITY slowly backs away toward the curtain, Christopher never taking his eyes off the Regulators.

The Regulators remain planted at center stage until their rivals disappear behind the curtain.

Only then does the Sheriff let out a slow breath.

Sheriff: "Well..."

He adjusts his hat.

Sheriff: "I'd say that's about as civil as I expected that conversation to go."

The room laughs as the tension begins to melt away.

The Hacker glances down at his podium's glowing display before looking back up.

Hacker: "Conflict unresolved."

A faint smile crosses his face.

Hacker: "Excellent."

The Sheriff sighs.

Sheriff: "And on that note..."

He looks back toward the reporters.

Sheriff: "Let's talk about the rest of what happened tonight..."

The Sheriff waits for the murmurs in the room to settle before taking another sip from the glass of water sitting on his podium.

He flips another page in the folder before him.

Sheriff: "Now..."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "We've talked about some of the individual championships."

He looks across the room.

Sheriff: "Let's talk about some of the folks that had one heck of a night, even if they didn't leave with a belt around their waist."

The Hacker glances toward the LED display built into his podium.

Blue graphics flicker briefly before disappearing.

Hacker: "Performance metrics."

A pause.

Hacker: "Victory is only one variable."

Another pause.

Hacker: "Trajectory is often more important."

The Sheriff points toward him.

Sheriff: "See? Every now and then he says somethin' I actually agree with."

A few laughs ripple through the room.

Team HVW vs. Team World

Sheriff: "Let's start with Team HVW and Team World."

He nods.

Sheriff: "That match was exactly what we wanted."

Another nod.

Sheriff: "Three different promotions."

He raises a finger.

Sheriff: "Three different styles."

Another.

Sheriff: "One ring."

The Hacker folds his hands.

Hacker: "Interpromotional competition creates accelerated adaptation."

Sheriff chuckles.

Sheriff: "Translation..."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "Everybody beat the hell outta everybody."

The room laughs.

Sheriff: "Marcus Steele..."

He gestures.

Sheriff: "Ace Sky."

Another.

Sheriff: "Wallace."

He nods proudly.

Sheriff: "Represented Heroes & Villains Wrestling exactly how I expected they would."

The Hacker nods once.

Hacker: "Efficient."

Sheriff: "And Team World..."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "I'll tell ya..."

A pause.

Sheriff: "Kalinda is one tough son of a gun."

The room murmurs in agreement.

Sheriff: "Esmeralda Von Krauss represented CWF."

Another nod.

Sheriff: "Lewis Chad Pinkston represented UCI."

He looks around.

Sheriff: "Both of 'em came to fight."

The Hacker speaks.

Hacker: "Kalinda's statistical probability of survival decreased with every elimination."

He pauses.

Hacker: "Yet she remained the final competitor for Team World."

A slight tilt of his head.

Hacker: "An impressive anomaly."

Reporter: "Do you expect we'll see more wrestlers from UPRISING, CWF and UCI after tonight?"

Sheriff smiles.

Sheriff: "I'd be disappointed if we didn't."

He folds his arms.

Sheriff: "The whole point of Heroes & Villains Wrestling is opening doors."

Another nod.

Sheriff: "Tonight proved that every one of those companies has people capable of steppin' into our ring."

The Hacker adds quietly.

Hacker: "Mutual evolution benefits everyone."

Justice Cross vs. Kimberly Hart

Sheriff flips another page.

Sheriff: "Now..."

A grin.

Sheriff: "There might not've been a championship on the line..."

He laughs softly.

Sheriff: "But don't tell Justice Cross and Kimberly Hart that."

The room chuckles.

Sheriff: "Those two beat each other from one end of the arena to the other."

The Hacker nods.

Hacker: "Personal rivalries consistently produce elevated performance."

He looks toward the press.

Hacker: "Logic becomes secondary."

A pause.

Hacker: "Emotion assumes control."

Sheriff: "Justice came out ahead tonight."

He nods.

Sheriff: "But somehow..."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "I don't exactly think either one of 'em is finished."

The room laughs knowingly.

The Alliance Championships

The Sheriff's smile grows wider.

Sheriff: "Now..."

He gestures toward the large monitor behind the stage.

A graphic appears.

INAUGURAL HVW ALLIANCE CHAMPIONS

THE TRIAD

SAMARA ASTRID & EVELYN HART

The crowd reacts with a mix of applause and boos.

Sheriff: "I'll admit..."

He exhales.

Sheriff: "When those three first came together..."

He shakes his head.

Sheriff: "I wasn't entirely sure what to make of it."

The Hacker speaks before he can continue.

Hacker: "Three independent variables."

A pause.

Hacker: "Now functioning as one complete system."

Another.

Hacker: "Optimization."

Sheriff nods reluctantly.

Sheriff: "Hard to argue."

He looks toward the reporters.

Sheriff: "Samara Astrid and Evelyn Hart looked like they'd been tagging together for years."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "Against the Brat Pack."

Another nod.

Sheriff: "Blind Magic."

Another.

Sheriff: "The Gentleman's Club."

He spreads his hands.

Sheriff: "They survived everybody."

The Hacker smiles faintly.

Hacker: "More concerning..."

The room quiets.

Hacker: "They appear to be improving."

Reporter: "Does that make the Triad the team to beat?"

Sheriff doesn't hesitate.

Sheriff: "Right now?"

He nods.

Sheriff: "Absolutely."

The Hacker taps the podium.

Hacker: "Which is precisely why..."

The large monitor changes.

An eight-team bracket appears.

The room buzzes.

Hacker: "The Alliance Championship Tournament begins..."

A pause.

Hacker: "...this Tuesday."

Sheriff smiles.

Sheriff: "Eight teams."

He looks around.

Sheriff: "One earns the next shot."

The Hacker nods.

Hacker: "A championship should never remain comfortable."

Saturday Night vs. Evolution

The Sheriff flips another page.

Sheriff: "One match I know everybody was lookin' forward to..."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "Saturday Night versus Evolution."

The crowd applauds.

Sheriff: "Jason Cashe."

He nods.

Sheriff: "Marilyn Matthews."

Another.

Sheriff: "Vera Vega."

He points toward the crowd.

Sheriff: "Against Leo Lions."

Another.

Sheriff: "Nick Micevski."

Another.

Sheriff: "Yuna Obsidian."

The Hacker folds his hands.

Hacker: "An accurate representation of both brands."

Sheriff nods.

Sheriff: "Jason got eliminated."

A pause.

Sheriff: "Didn't stop his teammates."

Another.

Sheriff: "Marilyn Matthews and Vera Vega..."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "...showed exactly why they're becoming one of the best tandems in Heroes & Villains Wrestling."

The room applauds.

Sheriff: "Every time they get in the ring together..."

He nods.

Sheriff: "They seem to get better."

The Hacker glances toward the Sheriff.

Hacker: "Repeated collaboration increases efficiency."

Sheriff grins.

Sheriff: "Or..."

He laughs.

Sheriff: "...they're just really damn good together."

The crowd laughs.

Reporter: "Would you consider giving them an Alliance Championship opportunity?"

The Sheriff looks toward the Hacker.

Both men smile.

Sheriff: "Let's just say..."

He points toward the bracket still displayed.

Sheriff: "...they've got every opportunity to earn one."

The High Noon Match

The blue graphics behind the stage dissolve into a giant image of the newly crowned No Limits Championship.

Then...

Jace Parker Davidson holding it high.

The room reacts immediately.

Sheriff: "Now that's a match nobody in this company is gonna forget."

The crowd applauds.

Sheriff: "Four competitors."

He counts them off.

Sheriff: "Crash Rodriguez."

"Lorenzo Vittorio DeLuca."

"Roxanne Rodriguiz."

"And Jace Parker Davidson."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "Those poker chips ended up being just as important as we thought they'd be."

The Hacker nods approvingly.

Hacker: "Resource acquisition."

A pause.

Hacker: "Risk management."

Another.

Hacker: "Adaptability."

He looks toward the crowd.

Hacker: "The High Noon Match successfully rewarded all three."

Sheriff leans onto the podium.

Sheriff: "Crash Rodriguez had one heck of a debut."

He nods.

Sheriff: "Roxanne nearly stole it."

Another.

Sheriff: "Lorenzo proved once again he's as slippery as they come."

Then he smiles.

Sheriff: "But in the end..."

He points toward the screen.

Sheriff: "Jace Parker Davidson figured it out."

The room applauds despite a healthy chorus of boos.

Sheriff: "The first-ever HVW No Limits Champion."

The Hacker's masked face turns slightly toward the screen.

Hacker: "Appropriate."

A reporter raises a hand.

Reporter: "Do you believe Jace is ready to represent Evolution as one of its flagship champions?"

The Hacker answers immediately.

Hacker: "He believes he is."

A pause.

Hacker: "Tuesday night..."

He tilts his head ever so slightly.

Hacker: "...we begin finding out if confidence and capability remain synonymous."

The Sheriff chuckles.

Sheriff: "I got a feelin' we're gonna learn a whole lot about Jace real quick."

He closes the folder in front of him.

Sheriff: "And we still haven't talked about..."

He grins knowingly.

Sheriff: "...the biggest story of the night."

The room buzzes.

Everyone already knows what's coming.

The Crown of Legends contract.

Danielle Page.

And everything that followed.

The Sheriff adjusts his hat before glancing toward the next page of notes.

Sheriff: "Now, one championship that didn't change hands tonight..."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "Our Territory Championship."

The crowd gives a mixed reaction.

Sheriff: "I don't think anybody can question just how tough Queen Bianca Davis and Old Redhook are after three straight championship matches."

The Hacker folds his hands.

Hacker: "Their rivalry has now produced three distinctly different data sets."

A pause.

Hacker: "Traditional."

Another.

Hacker: "Submission."

One final beat.

Hacker: "Last Man Standing."

He slowly nods.

Hacker: "Each one ending with the same conclusion."

The Sheriff finishes the thought.

Sheriff: "Queen Bianca Davis is still your HVW Territory Champion."

The room reacts with a mixture of applause and boos.

Sheriff: "Old Redhook pushed her farther than just about anybody could've expected, but somehow..."

He chuckles.

Sheriff: "...she just keeps finding a way."

The Sheriff looks toward the entrance.

Sheriff: "Matter of fact..."

He smiles knowingly.

Sheriff: "Why don't we hear from the champion herself?"

"Royal Flush" fills the room.

Boos immediately rain down.

The curtain parts as Queen Bianca Davis emerges, the gleaming Territory Championship draped proudly over her shoulder.

Walking a respectful step behind her is Simple Simon, carrying a bouquet of white roses and wearing the satisfied grin of a man convinced the entire evening went exactly according to plan.

Bianca pauses at the top of the stage.

She slowly raises the championship overhead.

She gives an exaggerated beauty queen wave to every corner of the room.

The boos only grow louder.

Bianca beams as though they're cheers.

Simple Simon applauds enthusiastically behind her.

The two make their way to center stage.

Bianca carefully adjusts the championship on the podium before flashing another flawless smile.

Queen Bianca Davis: "Thank you..."

She places a hand over her heart.

Queen Bianca Davis: "...thank you all so much."

More boos.

Queen Bianca Davis: "Your admiration truly means everything to me."

Simple Simon nods proudly.

Simple Simon: "She's inspiring."

The Sheriff pinches the bridge of his nose.

Sheriff: "Pretty sure they're booing."

Simple Simon looks toward him.

Simple Simon: "Jealousy is just applause with poor manners."

The room chuckles.

Only a couple of reporters bother raising their hands.

Reporter: "Bianca... three matches with Old Redhook. Is this rivalry finally over?"

Bianca smiles sweetly.

Queen Bianca Davis: "Oh..."

She lets out a small laugh.

Queen Bianca Davis: "I certainly hope so."

She pats the championship.

Queen Bianca Davis: "I have nothing left to prove."

Reporter: "You've now defeated him in three completely different matches. Where do you rank this among your accomplishments?"

Queen Bianca Davis tilts her head proudly.

Queen Bianca Davis: "At the very top."

She glances toward the championship.

Queen Bianca Davis: "Some queens inherit crowns."

A pause.

Queen Bianca Davis: "I earned mine."

More boos.

Simple Simon begins clapping again.

The Sheriff nods politely before stepping forward.

Sheriff: "Well..."

He smiles.

Sheriff: "You won't have long to celebrate."

Bianca raises an eyebrow.

Sheriff: "Because next Saturday Night..."

The room grows louder.

Sheriff: "...you've already got another challenger."

He looks toward the entrance.

Sheriff: "Come on out, Vera."

The reaction changes immediately.

A warm ovation fills the room.

Vera Vega steps through the curtain.

Unlike Bianca...

There is no pageantry.

No smile.

No celebration.

Just exhaustion.

Athletic tape wraps around one shoulder.

Bruises cover her arms.

A fresh scrape stretches across one side of her face.

She walks with a slight limp after surviving both the six-person elimination match earlier in the night...

...and crashing violently from the ladder inside the caged ladder match only an hour ago.

She reaches the stage and takes the microphone.

Vera Vega: "Before anybody asks..."

She exhales.

Vera Vega: "Yeah."

A tired smile.

Vera Vega: "Everything hurts."

A few laughs ripple through the room.

Vera Vega: "I came about this close..."

She holds two fingers barely apart.

Vera Vega: "...to punching my ticket to Crown of Legends."

She looks down for just a second.

Vera Vega: "Didn't happen."

Then she looks back up.

Vera Vega: "But I'm still standing."

She nods confidently.

Vera Vega: "The doctors checked me out backstage."

Another nod.

Vera Vega: "I'm beat up."

A pause.

Vera Vega: "But I'm not injured."

The crowd applauds.

Vera Vega: "Come Saturday..."

She looks directly at Bianca.

Vera Vega: "...I'll be ready."

Bianca smiles as though she expected exactly that answer.

Queen Bianca Davis: "Good."

She steps forward.

Queen Bianca Davis: "Because I wouldn't want anyone saying you weren't one hundred percent."

She straightens the championship over her shoulder.

Queen Bianca Davis: "When I make you bow..."

She smiles wider.

Queen Bianca Davis: "...I don't want there to be any excuses."

The room lets out an audible "oooh."

Vera takes a slow step forward until the two women are nearly nose to nose.

Vera Vega: "I've never made excuses."

A beat.

Vera Vega: "And I don't plan on starting next Saturday."

The two stare each other down.

Neither blinking.

Neither backing away.

For several long seconds...

The room falls completely silent.

Then—

A distorted chuckle echoes through the speakers.

The Hacker.

Hacker: "Excellent."

His masked face tilts slightly.

Hacker: "One competitor carrying absolute confidence."

He looks toward Vera.

Hacker: "The other carrying absolute determination."

A pause.

Hacker: "Statistically..."

Another quiet laugh.

Hacker: "...someone is about to become very disappointed."

The Sheriff quickly steps between them.

Sheriff: "Alright."

He points in opposite directions.

Sheriff: "Save it for Saturday."

Bianca slowly backs away, offering one final regal wave to the crowd before exiting alongside Simple Simon.

Vera never takes her eyes off the champion until she disappears behind the curtain.

Only then does she lower the microphone and head backstage herself.

The Sheriff watches both women leave before turning back toward the press.

Sheriff: "Folks..."

He adjusts his hat with a grin.

Sheriff: "I'd say next Saturday Night just got a whole lot more interesting."

The room buzzes as reporters hurriedly scribble notes, already anticipating the next chapter in the Territory Championship picture.

But the energy is different now.

The reporters know what is coming.

Everyone in the room understands there is one final story from Six Guns & Sinners that has yet to be addressed.

The biggest opportunity in Heroes & Villains Wrestling.

The Crown of Legends contract.

The Sheriff glances toward the Hacker.

The Hacker gives the smallest nod.

The Sheriff smiles.

Sheriff: "Alright."

He adjusts his hat.

Sheriff: "Let's talk about the match that ended the night."

The lights behind the podiums shift.

The HVW logo fades away.

A new graphic appears.

CROWN OF LEGENDS CONTRACT MATCH
WINNER RECEIVES A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AT CROWN OF LEGENDS

The crowd in the room immediately reacts.

Sheriff: "Four incredible competitors."

The graphic cycles through the participants.

Marilyn Matthews

Vera Vega

Kalinda

Danielle Page

Sheriff: "Four people who left everything they had inside that cage."

He shakes his head.

Sheriff: "And after everything..."

A pause.

Sheriff: "There was only one person climbing that ladder."

The graphic changes.

A picture of Danielle Page grabbing the contract.

The room erupts.

Sheriff: "The Diamond Princess."

The Hacker leans toward his microphone.

Hacker: "A fascinating outcome."

The Sheriff looks over.

Sheriff: "Fascinating?"

The Hacker nods.

Hacker: "Many considered Danielle Page emotionally compromised."

A pause.

Hacker: "Many considered the circumstances surrounding her previous championship opportunity to be a distraction."

Another.

Hacker: "Instead..."

He looks toward the screen.

Hacker: "She converted frustration into motivation."

The Sheriff nods.

Sheriff: "That's exactly what happened."

He looks toward the reporters.

Sheriff: "Danielle Page has been through a lot since Destiny's Divide."

A pause.

Sheriff: "A lot of people counted her out."

He shakes his head.

Sheriff: "She didn't listen."

The Sheriff looks toward the entrance.

Sheriff: "So let's bring her out here."

The room immediately grows louder.

Sheriff: "The winner of the Crown of Legends contract..."

A grin.

Sheriff: "Danielle Page."

"Diamonds Are Forever" hits the speakers.

The reaction is loud.

Not unanimous.

But loud.

A mixture of cheers, respect, and some lingering tension.

Danielle Page steps through the curtain wearing the same gear she competed in earlier that night.

No crown.

No extravagant celebration.

Just the contract folder in one hand and a look of determination across her face.

She pauses at the top of the stage.

Looks around.

Then raises the contract.

The cheers grow louder.

Danielle walks down to the stage and joins the Sheriff and Hacker.

She takes the microphone.

Danielle Page: "I know."

She looks around.

Danielle Page: "I know what everybody's thinking."

A pause.

Danielle Page: "That I should be celebrating more."

She looks down at the contract.

Danielle Page: "That after everything that happened at Destiny's Divide, after everything that was taken from me..."

She looks back up.

Danielle Page: "I should be standing here screaming about revenge."

A small smile.

Danielle Page: "But honestly?"

She shakes her head.

Danielle Page: "I'm tired."

A few laughs from the room.

Danielle Page: "I'm tired of talking about what should've happened."

She holds up the contract.

Danielle Page: "Because now..."

A pause.

Danielle Page: "...I have exactly what I wanted."

The crowd applauds.

Reporter: "Danielle, you defeated three incredible competitors tonight. Vera Vega, Marilyn Matthews, and Kalinda all had moments where it looked like they could win. What does beating them mean to you?"

Danielle looks down for a moment.

Danielle Page: "It means I earned this."

A pause.

Danielle Page: "Not because of what happened before."

Another.

Danielle Page: "Not because somebody felt sorry for me."

She taps the contract.

Danielle Page: "Because I climbed that ladder."

The room applauds.

Reporter: "You now have a guaranteed match against either Dan Highlander or Lex Collins at Crown of Legends. Do you have a preference?"

Danielle smiles slightly.

Danielle Page: "No."

She shakes her head.

Danielle Page: "Because whoever walks out of Solstice as champion..."

She looks directly into the camera.

Danielle Page: "...they're going to know exactly what's waiting for them."

A sudden cheer comes from the crowd.

Then—

The arena speakers crackle.

The room turns.

A familiar entrance theme begins.

The reaction explodes.

The Sheriff smiles.

The Hacker remains motionless.

Dan "The Hammer" Highlander steps through the curtain.

The HVW World Championship rests over his shoulder.

The reaction is significantly louder.

Highlander walks down the aisle, smiling slightly as he receives the ovation.

He reaches the stage.

For a moment...

He and Danielle simply look at each other.

No hostility.

No anger.

Just two competitors who understand what is coming.

Highlander steps forward.

Dan Highlander: "Congratulations."

Danielle nods.

Danielle Page: "Thank you."

A pause.

Highlander looks at the contract.

Dan Highlander: "You earned it."

Another pause.

Dan Highlander: "And whoever wins at Solstice..."

He adjusts the championship.

Dan Highlander: "They're going to have one hell of a fight waiting for them at Crown of Legends."

Danielle smiles.

The two step closer.

Face-to-face.

The room goes silent.

Everyone expects something.

A confrontation.

A shove.

A challenge.

Instead...

Both competitors smile.

Danielle extends a hand.

Highlander shakes it.

The crowd applauds.

Then suddenly—

A slow clap echoes from the entrance.

The applause dies.

A cocky smile appears.

Jace Parker Davidson walks onto the stage.

The No Limits Championship hangs over his shoulder.

The reaction immediately changes.

Boos.

Jace takes his time walking toward the stage.

Jace Parker Davidson: "Beautiful."

He laughs.

Jace Parker Davidson: "Really."

He looks between Highlander and Danielle.

Jace Parker Davidson: "A champion."

He points toward Highlander.

Jace Parker Davidson: "A future challenger."

He points toward Danielle.

Jace Parker Davidson: "Everybody standing around pretending this is the future of Heroes & Villains Wrestling."

He shakes his head.

Jace Parker Davidson: "But something is missing."

He taps the No Limits Championship.

Jace Parker Davidson: "Talent."

The crowd boos.

Jace steps closer.

Jace Parker Davidson: "Because let's be honest."

He looks toward the World Championship.

Jace Parker Davidson: "That's the championship everyone wants."

Then toward Danielle.

Jace Parker Davidson: "That's the opportunity everyone dreams about."

He smiles.

Jace Parker Davidson: "But this?"

He raises the No Limits Championship.

Jace Parker Davidson: "This proves I am the one person in this company who actually knows how to take what he wants."

Highlander steps forward slightly.

Danielle does as well.

Before anything happens—

Another voice interrupts.

Lex Collins.

"God's Gonna Cut You Down" hits.

The crowd erupts again.

Lex Collins walks through the curtain, still carrying the damage from earlier in the evening.

The Regulators' representative.

The World Championship challenger at Solstice IV.

Lex joins the stage.

Lex Collins: "You talk a whole lot."

Jace smirks.

Jace Parker Davidson: "And you don't talk enough."

Lex laughs.

Lex Collins: "Maybe."

A pause.

Lex Collins: "But I show up."

The room reacts.

Lex looks toward Highlander.

Lex Collins: "Dan."

Then Danielle.

Lex Collins: "Danielle."

Then Jace.

Lex Collins: "And you."

He points toward the No Limits Championship.

Lex Collins: "You might be good."

A pause.

Lex Collins: "But this company ain't built around one person."

The Hacker slowly stands straighter.

The Sheriff looks around.

The atmosphere has completely changed.

The four people standing on the stage represent the future of HVW.

The present.

The next generation.

The next challengers.

The Sheriff steps back toward his podium.

Behind them, the screen changes.

Four graphics appear.

The crowd erupts.

The four competitors stand across from one another.

Highlander with the World Championship.

Jace with the No Limits Championship.

Danielle with the Crown of Legends contract.

Lex with his title opportunity waiting.

The Hacker finally speaks.

Hacker: "Interesting."

Everyone turns.

Hacker: "The next evolution of Heroes & Villains Wrestling is standing directly in front of us."

A pause.

Hacker: "Four different paths."

Another.

Hacker: "One destination."

The Sheriff steps forward.

Sheriff: "And that destination..."

He looks toward the crowd.

Sheriff: "Is Crown of Legends."

The fans begin chanting.

HVW!

HVW!

HVW!

The Sheriff looks around at the stage.

Then at the press.

Sheriff: "Now..."

He points between the four wrestlers.

Sheriff: "Before somebody does somethin' stupid..."

Jace smiles.

The crowd laughs.

Sheriff: "We're done here."

The four competitors remain staring at one another.

Nobody moves.

Nobody backs down.

The cameras flash.

The championships shine.

The contract is held high.

And as the lights begin to fade...

Heroes & Villains Wrestling's future stands perfectly clear.

The road to Crown of Legends has officially begun.
