Relationships
In The Ring
—
—
Clubbering Forearm Smash to the Neck/Back: Think Dusty Rhodes but meaner. Redhook delivers big overhead forearms, mostly to the traps and neck. Doesn’t look elegant, looks painful. Repeated shots can leave his opponent on all fours, gasping.
Corner Rope Choke with Boot: With his boot in the opponent’s throat and his arms over the ropes like he’s bracing on a boat rail, Redhook chokes the life out of them, slowly, making eye contact with the crowd the whole time.
Back Elbow Smashes: When in close, Redhook fires elbow shots to the side of the head or jaw, sometimes leaning into them for extra force. Slow but stiff, he hits like a dockworker in a tavern brawl.
Biel Throw by the Beard/Hair: Grabs a handful of hair or gear and tosses his opponent across the ring in a lazy arc. Doesn’t care about technique, just looking to disorient and displace.
Slingshot Backbreaker (to Lower Back Focus): Catches them on the rebound from the ropes and drops them across his knee, then grinds the spine down with his forearm as they writhe.
Harpoon Kick: Ripcord Big Boot (Hooks the opponents arm across their chest before spinning them out and running through the opponent with a boot to the chest or face like being impaled by a harpoon.)
Buoy Slam: Rope-hung Alabama Slam combo (He traps his opponent’s arms in the ropes like a net, hits a running shoulder to the midsection, then yanks them into a heavy Alabama slam with all his body strength behind it. A sudden impact from a slow predator.)
The Dragnet: Belly to Belly Suplex Slam (Catches an opponent rushing in and slams them down violently, like a net being tossed into the sea to catch prey.)
The Undertow
—
—
A brutal Fisherman’s Buster (He catches the opponent in a front facelock, hooks their leg and arm, lifts them high into the air, and then drops them head-first, driving the neck and skull into the mat.)
Short-arm lariat with a violent snap (Redhook yanks his opponent in with a rope-like wrist grip and nearly decapitates them with a sudden lariat.)
Rebound Lariat Counter (When whipped to the ropes or dodging an incoming attack, Redhook hits the opposite side, grabs the top rope to fake stopping, then explodes back with a short-arm or spinning lariat. The crowd thinks he’s gassed until he turns the tide with one stiff shot.)
Low Tide Lariat
Short-arm lariat with a violent snap (Redhook yanks his opponent in with a rope-like wrist grip and nearly decapitates them with a sudden lariat.)
Grim. Weathered. Unforgiving. Old Redhook is a hard man shaped by a hard life. He doesn’t believe in hope, luck, or second chances. To him, life is survivaland the ring is just another storm you either withstand or get swept away by. He speaks in short, gravelly sentences, like a man who’s seen things that haunt him. There’s no flair, no hype, no wasted words. He doesn’t perform, he warns. When he talks, it feels like an omen. He’s not out for glory or titles. He’s here because violence is all he knows. The crowd doesn’t need to like him because he’s not here for them. He wrestles the way he lived on the docks: with calloused hands, bad intentions, and a willingness to drown anyone who gets too close.
Views every match as a fight to drag his opponent under. Doesn’t respect showboats, high-flyers, or loudmouths. He calls them “deckhands playin’ pirate.” Believes pain is payment, and he’s collected plenty. He’s not trying to climb the mountain, he lives in the trench and dares others to come down.
Tide-Watching Gaze: Before locking up, he stares at his opponent like he’s waiting for a wave to crash, calculating and unblinking. Fish Hook Spot: He’ll dig his fingers into an opponent’s mouth or eye socket and “hook” them across the ring, grinning while the ref counts. Corner Choke with Boot: Methodically presses his rubber boot into a downed opponent’s throat while staring into the crowd with no emotion. Grapple & Lean: He’ll wear opponents down by leaning all his weight into them, whether it’s in a headlock, bearhug, or corner clinch. Trash Talk: Low-toned, sea-worn threats like “You’re gaspin’, boy… tide’s comin’ in.” Dirty Rope Work: Bounces heads off turnbuckles with that dock-worker rhythm. Grinds faces across ropes, bites, and breaks at 4. Hook Necklace Tease: Might pull out the gaff hook necklace mid-match as a psychological taunt, but he never uses it unless it’s a hardcore stipulation.
Avoids aerials, sells wear and tear mid match.
